AP Psychology Textbook Available for Review
PRESS RELEASE – September 9, 2024
At its regular meeting on Wednesday, November 13, the Fluvanna County School Board will consider adoption of the textbook committee’s recommendation for a textbook for AP Psychology.
The books reviewed included:
1. Cacioppo, John T. and Laura A. Freberg. Discovering Psychology: The Science of Mind. 3rd edition. 2019. Boston: Cengage Learning.
2. Myers, David G. and Nathan DeWall. Exploring Psychology. 11th edition. 2019. New York: Worth.
3. Myers, David G. and Nathan DeWall. Psychology. 12th edition. 2018. New York: Worth.
4. Myers, David G. and Nathan DeWall. Myers’ Psychology for AP Course. 4th edition. 2024. New York: Worth.
5. Schacter, Daniel, Daniel Gilbert, Daniel Wegner, and Matthew K. Nock. Psychology. 5th edition. 2020. New York: Worth.
The committee is recommending the adoption of Myers’ Psychology for AP Course 4th Edition.
The resources will be available for public review from Monday through Fridayfrom 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

FCHS Picture Day
FCHS senior and underclass yearbook/school ID badge portraits will be taken Sept. 12 and 13 during the school day. Each day will have an altered schedule of Block 2, 1, 3, and 4. Makeup day is Oct. 31. Students do not need to make appointments and a schedule of which 1st block classes will take photos which day will be posted on Facebook by Sept. 10. JostensPix will email a flyer with details/ordering info to parents on Sept. 5.

Yearbooks
Underclassmen who pre-ordered 2024 “Phases” yearbooks need to pick them up in the Cafeteria during lunches on Friday, August 16. Yearbooks can be purchased that day and the following week from Room 4501 for $95 while supplies last. You can also pre-order the 2025 FCHS yearbook, “Timeline,” for the lowest price of the year now by going to jostensyearbooks.com.
2024 Annual Update Form
The 2024 Annual Update form is now available for returning FCPS students. Please be sure to fill out a form for each of your students before the school starts.
Parent Portal Now Open – New URL
PowerSchool Parent Portal is now open!
We migrated to a new PowerSchool server over the summer so the Parent Portal URL has changed. The new address is https://ps.fluco.org so be sure to update your bookmarks. Please contact your school’s registrar if you need assistance signing in.
