FLUVANNA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS APPOINTS CHRIS MAZELLA AS FLUVANNA COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

At the regularly scheduled Fluvanna County School Board Meeting on Wednesday, July 11th, 2019, Fluvanna County School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Chris Mazella as the new Fluvanna Middle School (FMS) Assistant Principal. The division and FMS organized a school-based panel of team leaders which received 16 applications and conducted 16 interviews before selecting Mr. Mazella.
FLUVANNA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS APPOINTS DR. MEAGAN TENIA AS FLUVANNA COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

At a regularly scheduled Fluvanna County School Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019, Fluvanna County School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Meagan Tenia as the new Fluvanna Middle School Principal (FMS). The division organized a school-based panel of team leaders, receiving eight applications and conducted eight interviews before selecting Dr. Tenia.
“I am truly excited about Dr. Tenia taking over the helm as the Fluvanna Middle School Principal. Meagan brings a solid foundation of both academic and leadership experiences to this position. She will be a wonderful asset to both Fluvanna Middle School, our division, and the community as a whole. I know that she will continue to help us grow and move forward together for our children,” stated Chuck Winkler, Superintendent.
Dr. Tenia comes to Fluvanna from Henrico County Public Schools with 13 years in education; most recently, as Associate Principal at Short Pump Middle School. Prior to working in Henrico, Meagan worked in Chesterfield County as a middle school Dean and Science teacher. She has also taught in Charlottesville City Schools and Suffolk County Public Schools.

PALMYRA – Fresh off a state title win, Fluvanna County’s Jacob Critzer can add another accolade to his growing list of honors. The recent graduate, who helped boost the Flucos to the program’s first state championship in baseball, was named the VHSL’s Class 3 State Player of the Year on Monday, June 17, 2019. The 16-10 victory over Tabb was Fluvanna’s first title win in any sport in nearly three decades.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the Senior Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2019 was held. The following students received community awards and scholarships for their accomplishments at FCHS. The Class of 2019 received over 1 million dollars in scholarship money. We are so proud of their achievements.
