FLUVANNA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ALUM INVITED TO VIRGINIA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE FILM FESTIVAL

Jordan Melton’s documentary film His Image was an official selection at the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Film Festival in June. The festival encourages students from around the state to participate in and raise the bar in film achievement. The Third Annual festival was held in June at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

Rebecca Smith has been named Assistant Principal of Fluvanna Middle School. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Eastern Mennonite University. Mrs. Smith has held diverse roles as an educator in both public and private arenas.

Fluvanna County Public Schools Goes Green with Online Student Registration/Validation Process

PRESS RELEASE – July 17, 2017

Fluvanna County Public Schools are excited to announce an online student registration/data validation system for the upcoming school year, powered by PowerSchool Registration. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency, transportation and medical information for your child prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. In short, this online process replaces all the paper student registration and permission forms that you received at the beginning of past school years.

FLUVANNA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL TO OFFER SAT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY FOR SENIORS IN OCTOBER

During the 2016-17 school year, Fluvanna County High School began offering PSAT testing to all students in Grades 8 through 11. This option gives students the opportunity to gain experience with the college admissions tests and gives the school information to better target instruction to student needs. This year, the High School will also offer all seniors the opportunity to take the SAT free of charge during this testing day.

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, the Senior Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2017 was held. The following students received community awards and scholarships for their accomplishments at FCHS. The Class of 2017 received $896,136 in scholarship money. We are so proud of their achievements.
