The School Board of Fluvanna County Public Schools invites applications and nominations for the position of Superintendent.

Beginning on February 21, 2017 9am-3pm Monday – Friday
Evening hours will be held March 2, 2017, from 4-6PM
Open House will be held on April 27th in the Central Elementary Auditorium at 6pm

**Please bring two proofs of residency, original birth certificate, Virginia School Entrance. Health Form, which includes your child’s physical and immunization records. (Physical must be dated August 8, 2016 or later)

Bring your walking shoes as we tour the High School and talk to teachers and students about the many opportunities available at the High School. This is a great opportunity for students of all ages to see what we offer.
Fluvanna County High School will welcome the community for the Second Annual CTE Open House Night. Participants have the opportunity to meet with CTE teachers, visit classrooms, ask questions, and see the state of the art equipment that students use in these programs. Students will conduct tours for participants sharing information about the courses offered, industry credentials, and respond to questions related to “R U College and Career Ready?” The CTE programs highlighted include: Health and Medical Sciences, Cosmetology and Barbering, Agriculture, Carpentry, TV Production, Engineering, Computer Science, Business and Information Systems, Culinary Arts, Teacher Cadet, and Marketing.
Fluvanna County School Board Announces Superintendent Search
The Fluvanna County School Board announced today that it will begin the process of hiring a superintendent. The Fluvanna County School Board has selected the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) to assist the Board with the superintendent search. The first step in this process is seeking input regarding the qualifications and characteristics they would like to see in the next Superintendent.

Fluvanna County High School will begin accepting applications for any interested eighth graders for Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School (BRVGS). Applications will be made available beginning Monday, October 3, 2016. The program accepts up to 18 students for each class.
Students are Invited to Apply for Summer Residential Governor’s School

Applications are now available for the Summer Residential Governor’s School. Students must be in either 10th or 11th grade, be gifted or an advanced student in one of the following areas: Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Humanities, Math, Science, Technology, Agriculture, Medicine, Space or Marine science. Each Summer Residential Governor’s School focuses on one special area of interest. Students live on a college or university campus for up to four weeks each summer. During this time, students are involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects and performances, and seminars with noted scholars, visiting artists, and other professionals. In the three mentorships, students are selected to work side-by-side with research scientists, physicians, and a variety of other professionals. A director and student-life staff provide supervision of students 24 hours a day, throughout the program.
