FLUCO TV to Offer Live Streaming of Games

PRESS RELEASE – September 22, 2016

In a new venture with the NFHS Network, Fluco TV will be live streaming all home Fluco Football games and a variety of other sporting events throughout the 2016-17 school year. All broadcasts are produced by students at Fluvanna County High School who have learned broadcasting techniques through their enrollment in Television Production courses.

FLUVANNA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL EARNS BLUE STAR SCHOOL AWARD FOR W!SE FINANCIAL LITERACY

Fluvanna County High School has earned the Blue Star School Award for 2016 for W!SE Financial Literacy. This is the third consecutive year that the High School has received this honor. The High School administered W!SE certification tests for the first time during the 2013-2014 school year. The school earned a 91 percent pass rate on the test, with 236 high school students earning the credential during the 2015-16 school year.

VDOE Releases School Accreditation Ratings: All Fluvanna County Public Schools are Fully Accredited

PRESS RELEASE – September 14, 2016

The Virginia Department of Education announced that 81 percent of Virginia’s public schools are rated as Fully Accredited for 2016-17. This compares with 78 percent for the 2015-16 school year.

Fluvanna is one of only 39 school divisions in the state where all schools in the division were fully accredited and one of only 22 school divisions fully accredited for the past three years. There are a total of 132 school divisions in the State of Virginia. Schools can meet the accreditation benchmarks by scoring above the benchmark or by using a three-year average.

Fluvanna SOL Results Released

The Virginia Department of Education released Standards of Learning (SOL) test results for the state on Tuesday.

Carysbrook Elementary School saw continued gains in student achievement for Grade 4 exceeding the state averages in all content areas.

Fluvanna Middle School exceeded the state averages in Grade 7 Reading and Grade 5 Science.

Fluvanna County High School continues to meet or surpass state averages in 14 of the 17 areas tested. These areas include end-of-course tests and Grade 8, which is housed at the High School.
